Journals Announce Strong Performance in Impact Factors and Usage

We are delighted to announce that the Society Journals continue to perform strongly in the Thomson ISI 2007 Journal Citation Reports with 10 titles listed in seven psychology categories. Seven of our titles have an Impact factor (IF) of over 1.0 indicating the continued high citation rates of our primary research articles. Highlights for 2007 include:

British Journal of Social Psychology saw an IF rise to 1.987 and is now ranked 9^th in the Social Psychology category.
Legal and Criminological Psychology saw a steady rise in IF of over 50% each year since it entered the Journal Citation Reports in 2005.
British Journal of Health Psychology saw an IF increase to 1.337 which is its second highest IF ever recorded.

Online usage

Online usage is another good measure of the quality and impact of journals. Ingenta hosts 10,000 journals online and we are proud to announce that nine Society journal titles regularly feature in Ingenta’s Top 100 of full-text downloads. In 2008, the highest usage positions were:
