We are delighted to announce that the 2008 Journal Citation Reports have shown a record high Impact Factor for a number of British Psychological Society Journals. These results reflect the high quality and timeliness of the papers published, and further emphasize the Journals as a leading resource for psychology research.
The British Journal of Health Psychology has risen to 1.976. The editors, Professors Paul Bennett and Kavita Vedhara said "We would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest thanks to our three Editorial teams who work tirelessly for the journal and clearly to great effect; and also to all those authors who have chosen to bring their important findings to the journal for dissemination."
The British Journal of Educational Psychology has seen a rise of over 50%, to 1.701, entering the Web of Science’s top ten in the field of Educational Psychology. Professor Andrew Tolmie, the editor of the journal, said "This further sizeable increase in our impact factor illustrates how central the journal has become to work in this field."
The biggest increase was seen by the British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, which saw a rise of over 150% to become the fifth ranking journal in its field. The ever increasing number of high quality submissions has seen the journal move to three parts a year for 2009 thus publishing more papers than ever before.
It was also announced earlier this year that the Journal of Neuropsychology has been selected for inclusion in the Thomson Reuters databases. This Journal will receive its first Impact Factor next year.
