How do I access the journals online?
Online access to the current issue, back issues from 1999 onwards and all 'in-press' articles is available to subscribers free of charge. You will only have online access to the journals to which you have a current subscription.
Please follow the appropriate link below and follow the necessary instructions to obtain free online access:
In order to activate your online access you will need your Society membership number (if you are a member of the Society) or your customer number (for non-members and institutions - see below).
I have a current subscription but when I try to activate my online access the system says I do not have any current paper subscriptions. What's going on?
If you are a new subscriber, it may take up to three weeks for your details to be forwarded to Ingenta who are our online access providers. You will not be able to activate your online access until your details have been passed on. If you are still having problems after this time, please contact Ingenta, who will be pleased to help.
I am trying to activate my online access but the system is asking for my Customer Number (CU). Where can I find this?
Your Customer Number (e.g. CU-000333) can be found on the packaging in which the hard copy journal was sent to you or can be obtained from Turpin Distribution (tel: +44 (0)1767 604953; e-mail: custserv@turpin-distribution.com).
I am not a subscriber. Can I still access the journals online?
Yes. Non-subscribers are able to view the contents list and abstracts free of charge and can purchase individual articles on a pay-per-view basis by locating the relevant article and entering payment details when requested.
I tried to view a journal article but got a message saying my subscription details were not recognised. What do I do?
Current subscribers need to register for online access before they are allowed to view articles (see above). If you have registered and have signed in using your username/password but are still having problems, please contact our online access providers, Ingenta, who will be pleased to help.
I have forgotten my password. What do I do?
Please contact Ingenta who will be able to send you a password reminder.
I haven't found the answer I was looking for. What should I do?
Please see the General Journals FAQs or contact the Journals Department (e-mail: mail@bpsjournals.co.uk; tel: +44 (0)116 254 9580) and we will be pleased to help.
